Section 230 Notice: TenantPetRights.org is an interactive computer service as defined under the Communications Decency Act, 47 U.S.C. § 230. TenantPetRights.org is not the publisher or speaker of user-submitted content and is not liable for any user-submitted information under 47 U.S.C. § 230(c)(1). Users are solely responsible for the content they submit.
Statutory text, 47 U.S.C. § 230(c)(1): "No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider." This statute immunizes TenantPetRights.org from civil liability for user-submitted reports. This protection has been consistently upheld by federal courts and is the same protection that shields consumer advocacy platforms, journalism sites, and public interest databases across the internet.
Attorneys considering legal action against TenantPetRights.org should be aware that 33 states have enacted Anti-SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) statutes specifically designed to protect public interest journalism and advocacy from meritless litigation. Under these statutes, a plaintiff who files a SLAPP suit against protected speech may be required to pay the defendant's attorney fees and costs.
We will vigorously defend this site and pursue all available remedies, including Anti-SLAPP fee-shifting, against any meritless legal action. All published case information is sourced from public records. Truth is an absolute defense to defamation. User-submitted content is protected under 47 U.S.C. § 230. Before filing any legal action, we encourage counsel to review the applicable Anti-SLAPP statute and the substantial body of Section 230 case law that has protected platforms like this one.
